Classic Boots with a Twist

I've lived in Iowa all my life and over the years I have learned that Iowa winters require warm, waterproof and durable snow boots. These red Timberlands are just that, the water beads off of them and the insulation on the inside keeps my toes warm in freezing temperatures.  Timberlands have always been a classic winter boot with five star customer ratings so I knew these Timberlands would hold up to anything I put them through. One of my favorite things about these boots is that that are red. I paired my Tims with True Religion Straight Leg jeans, cuffing them up a-bit to add dimension. Layering my top with a long sleeve tee, a black hooded zip up, a denim vest and toped it off with a classic plaid scarf.

Fashion To Five 2016: New Year, New Trends, New Clothes?

We see "new" trends come and go every year, so do you need a "brand new" wardrobe for 2016?  The answer is simply, NO.  You see, a lot of the trends that are popular now, have been popular before, so you can plan on your favorite "graphic tee" or "bleached denim blue jeans" to be a Trend in the future.  It has been this way in the fashion world for many years.  Trends are often recycled throughout the years,  or brought back as a "retro" look.  So my best advice is to hold on to your favorite items that are "not trendy" currently, because their is a good probability it will come back "in style" and you can rock it once again.

When in doubt, wear what you LIKE, what you LOVE, and be YOU in 2016!

Denim 101 : Just Freeze It

Denim is just something you can never have too much of.  Everyone has there "go-to" pair of denim that, when nothing is going write with your outfit, you KNOW your denim will make everything alright.  So..how can you keep those favorite pair of jeans feeling fresh and new? Just freeze them.   Yes, put your denim in a ziploc sealed bag, place them in the freezer for 24 hours and they are ready to wear.  If you happen to get a stain, dirt, sweat, then the washer is necessary, but don't wash your jeans unless you HAVE to.  Freezing for 24 hours will kill all the bacteria in your denim, and they will feel like new every time you wear them.
